Perfect foyer console

Low-profile slab of creamy travertine on a sculptural fluted round base that looks tailored without trying. It reads elegant and surprisingly sturdy in my entryway, pulling the whole space together.

I bought this for our narrow foyer and it changed the vibe immediately. The travertine top has soft taupe and ivory veining with a few tiny, natural pits that give it character without looking rustic. The fluted base is the star. In person the grooves catch light and make it feel like a small piece of architecture. It feels solid when you lean on it and does not wobble, even on our slightly uneven old wood floors.

Delivery took 10 days, the box was heavy but well packed with foam around the edges. The top and base came separate. It took me and my neighbor 12 minutes to set it up, you just align the dowels and secure the plate underneath. No weird tools, just the included wrench. Once assembled, it sits perfectly flush with no gaps.

The height is spot on for a console. I put a bowl for keys, a low lamp, and a small stack of books on one side and it still looks airy because the base keeps your eye moving. The stone tone works with my greige walls and black frames without clashing. It feels elegant without being precious, and I am not babysitting it every second.

A few real world notes. Travertine is porous, so I wiped it with a stone sealer the first night. Water rings from a sweaty glass came right off after that. The edges are slightly eased, not razor sharp, which I appreciate with a toddler. There were two tiny fill spots on the underside of the top that you would never notice unless you crouch.

Weight wise, it is substantial. You cannot drag it to vacuum, you have to lift one end a bit, but that is also why it does not tip if someone bumps it. The base has felt pads that did not scratch our floor. I slid a narrow basket under for mail and it fits cleanly between the flutes, which I did not expect.

For the price, it looks far more expensive than the flat metal and veneer consoles I was considering. If you want something unique that reads calm and architectural, this nails it. After three weeks of keys, mail, and the occasional plant watering mishap, it still looks brand new and makes the whole entry feel pulled together.

We aim to deliver orders to the United States within 20 business days of your purchase date. As a European design house, we manage biweekly transatlantic shipments using our premium courier partners (FedEx & UPS) to ensure a seamless arrival at your home.

Please note that to ensure maximum protection during transit, your piece will be professionally packed in a custom wooden crate and fully insured. Delivery is Curbside, meaning the crate will be unloaded at the end of your driveway or curb.

*Home Accents (0–10kg) include stone trays. Statement Furniture (10–200kg) includes side and console tables. Grand Scale (200kg+) includes dining tables, coffee tables, and large console tables.

Sourcing Note:

While the majority of our stock is held in our European logistics center (Bucharest), custom pieces may be shipped directly from our atelier in Türkiye to expedite your delivery. To organize a return, please contact us at hello@travertable.com within 100 days of receipt with your order number and reason for return.

Please note that for standard returns (change of mind), you are responsible for the actual third-party freight cost to return the item to our warehouse, plus a 10% restocking fee. These amounts will be deducted from your total refund.

Your item must be in its original condition and packed securely in the original wooden crate.
