About Us

Our Story

Travertable was born from the friendship of two families — the Yilmaz family, with a natural talent for connecting people, and the Koç family, stone artisans with generations of knowledge. What began as conversations over tea in a small workshop slowly grew into a shared vision: to create furniture that honors the earth and supports the hands that shape it.

A Boutique Beginning

We are not a big factory, and we don’t aim to be. Travertable remains a small atelier run by our two families, supported by just three skilled craftsmen who have become like family themselves. Together, we carve, polish, and finish every piece with care — producing just enough to support our families and keep this craft alive. Each vanity or table that leaves our workshop is more than a product. It is the result of hours of handwork, careful stone selection, and the quiet pride of a team who believes that less, done well, is more.

Our Philosophy

We believe stone is more than a material — it’s history frozen in time. Every block of marble or travertine carries veins, tones, and patterns that can never be repeated. Instead of hiding these variations, we celebrate them.

Most of our work is bespoke, created in collaboration with architects, designers, and homeowners who value individuality. Whether a vanity in Nero Marquina or a custom table in Calacatta Viola, each piece is shaped with the same philosophy: to be beautiful, to be useful, and to last.

Today

Travertable is still what it was at the beginning — two families working side by side, with a small team of craftsmen, making just enough to sustain the people behind the work. We don’t produce thousands of pieces a year. We don’t want to.

Instead, we focus on creating fewer pieces with greater meaning — furniture that will hold stories for years to come.
